You’ll be led to comfortable booths, soundtracked by families enjoying Italian and Mexican specialties from multiple tables and breakfast will be served (with the requisite amount of coffee) before you finish your meal.

The oatmeal—creamy and perfectly cooked, like we remember from childhood—is a must too.

Seven Brothers Diner

The traditional, yet gloriously welcoming, Yonkers spot near Riverdale is filled with the type of people who know exactly what they want. So while you won’t have to wait long, at least come hungry. The staff does all the hard work, keeping coffee cups full and plates hot, so all you have to do is enjoy it.
The $15 breakfast plate is filled with enough perfectly cooked food to satisfy anyone—our favourite is the moist French toast with crispy bacon and those perfectly crunchy hash browns.
Scorpio

When everything feels overwhelming, Scorpio’s enchiladas make it all better. This isn’t just one of our favorite Mexican spots, it’s one of our favorite restaurants in Yonkers full stop. Aromatic previews of the dishes drift from the kitchen before you even decide what you’re ordering—which should be the enchiladas (obviously) and the spicy mole poblano (rich, complex chicken).
It’s the kind of place you could bring your boss or your grandma, and both would leave in a better mood than when they walked in, thanks to the warm atmosphere, accommodating servers, and those generous portions.
