When we asked Brick’s most discerning eaters where they’d grab a quick, crave-worthy bite, one name kept coming up: the local legend who swears by these eight spots. We can confirm: these aren’t just fast food joints—they’re destinations. And they really, really deliver.
Five Guys
$ | (732) 262-4040 | WEBSITE

Five Guys is so good. There’s no need to overthink it—you just have to trust the process, they know what they’re doing. You pick your toppings and customize your meal, and they’ll handle it. Their double bacon burgers are great. They have milkshakes that are mind-blowing—they’re thick and perfectly made. I highly recommend Five Guys when you’re on your next little fast-food run.
Roy Rogers
$ | (732) 908-1203 | WEBSITE

Believe the buzz. This is hands down my favorite drive-thru. I tell everyone to swing by and hit that line—it moves fast. Consistently great food. We go for whatever catches our eye—the roast beef, the fish sandwich, they’re both incredible. The roast beef is top-tier for me. And the portions, they’re just right. You can grab and go if you’re in a rush, or you can pull over and enjoy it right there. And the staff is genuinely friendly.
White Castle
$ | (732) 597-0938 | WEBSITE

White Castle’s rat burger is so good. That special holiday decor, that’s the key ingredient. It’s just a perfect combo of atmosphere. Usually it’s not something I would order—and it was the same thing when I went with my friends. They were like, ‘Alright, we’ll get the regular sliders.’ I was like, ‘Guys, you have to try the rat burger.’ And sure enough, they were like, ‘Oh my god, this is fun.’ I recently got to have more of the rat burger when White Castle did their Valentine’s Day setup.
It was perfectly timed, when I needed some festive vibes.
Wendy’s
$ | (732) 202-9209 | WEBSITE

Wendy’s is a solid, straightforward fast-food spot, with burgers and chicken sandwiches and decent quick meals. The same chain does Frostys and baked potatoes as well—their classic options are really reliable. It’s in such a convenient Brick location, and they’ve got great drive-thru service for when you finally don’t want to cook and need something fast. I get a Dave’s Single burger and the spicy chicken sandwich. Their fries were really good the last time I went. And of course, the Frosty.
Splitting my time between here and other chains, you can never go wrong with a Frosty.
Jersey Mike’s Subs
$ | (732) 477-3400 | WEBSITE

This sub shop is phenomenal. They have incredible sandwiches, classic and loaded. It’s some of the most satisfying fast food. Jersey Mike’s offers great subs, good service, and now they have a clean, welcoming environment. They have these classic Italian subs, like I had growing up in Jersey—just fresh bread, quality meats, and a little bit of oil and vinegar. If you can go on a quiet day and get a seat, especially late afternoon, it’s the spot to be.
And if it’s busy, you go over to the friendly staff and they’ll make it right—that’s also a winner.
China Express II
$ | (732) 477-2388 | WEBSITE

China Express II is not for everyone, but I love it. It’s just a hole-in-the-wall Chinese spot right off the main strip in Brick. I live nearby, and I could drive over there in five, 10 minutes. If you want a ton of dumplings and a cheap lunch combo, it’s the spot for you. And the food and the generous portions are amazing. There’s a reason why people make fun of that area—you’re eating on, like, basic takeout tables, but the whole neighborhood wants to order from here.
I’m happy with some Pad Thai and people watching.
Chick-fil-A
$ | (732) 477-1093 | WEBSITE

Chick-fil-A has always been a favorite. The first time I went there was a Tuesday afternoon, like two months ago, and I was really impressed by the efficiency. And now they have that busy drive-thru, which is impressive. I love their sauces—the honey roasted BBQ is where it’s at. They make a great grilled chicken sandwich, and their kale crunch salad is one of the best.
Komodo
$ | (732) 447-2562 | WEBSITE

Great Chinese food, and their boba tea is really good, and different. They have tons of regulars. And the staff is awesome. They’re really lovely people. I trust anyone who takes their duck sauce that seriously. And if there’s a long line for takeout? Then I take the place seriously. If they don’t have time to chit-chat? That’s what it’s about. I’m definitely going back for some more general tso’s, probably today. I’m excited now.
