Cilas Café
Cilas Café is a five-minute walk away from Matosinhos beach. There are no ocean views from the indoor seating (grabbing a spot on the terrace is a good idea). But even if you don’t, you’ll be happy with the bread with chorizo. It might be the most impressive bread with chorizo of any Matosinhos café. It’s more of a chorizo pillow, completely covering the slices of crusty bread with savory sausage. But every aspect of this café is great.
Ask for extra coffee because you’ll want it with every bite of the divine snacks.
Boka Loka Grill
While most fast food spots in Matosinhos focus on quick bites, Boka Loka Grill fills a void with its cozy atmosphere and friendly service. They make a bifana with ultra-tender pork and a side of golden fries that’s crisp outside but satisfyingly fluffy inside. For $12 dollars, you’ll get a complete meal of bifana, fries, and a small salad. The coffee is an extra $2, but get it. It’s the coffee that really gives this grill its Boka Loka power.

Burger King – NorteShopping
With a handful of locations in Porto, Burger King is one of Matosinhos’ most reliable fast food spots. And the NorteShopping location, which is open late, is definitely the most standout one. There’s almost always a welcoming atmosphere inside the restaurant. It’s a great place to take someone for their first introduction to Burger King, because this location does pretty much everything well—particularly excellent quality burgers with vegetarian options available.
