The quality extends to the market side, where Argentine and US beef, fresh produce, and raw meats abound, but the fruit and veggie box—packed with extra items for value—is also available if that’s more your speed. There’s a welcoming atmosphere where the wonderful owner and friendly staff work hard for customers, but you can—and should—do as the entire neighborhood does and stop by for a delicious meal that supports a local business.
Olivas’ Mexican Food

Olivas’ Mexican Food offers two distinct experiences. In the main dining area, you can settle into a booth and watch families enjoying their meals, pay as little as $8 for a lunch special, and eat things like the highly recommended chicken fundido burrito or enchiladas from their Wednesday specials. But when you want to have a meal where you’re treated like a longtime regular, try their Taco Tuesday deals. They include things like generously filled tacos and their popular combination plates.

Alfonso’s Mexican Food

But Alfonso’s Mexican Food serves burritos so satisfying, it’s absolutely worth navigating the slightly worn ordering lane. This Prescott Valley gem is tucked away in the Tri Valley area, focuses on fresh ingredients, and prepares each order with careful attention.
For those unfamiliar, their standout bean burritos feature warm, fresh chips layered with generous portions—we’re particularly fond of the breakfast version with bacon, but you really can’t miss here. The carne asada nachos are a hearty, no-skimpy situation—they hold up beautifully under the tender grilled steak, creamy beans, and melted cheese—and each bite delivers that perfect balance of textures and flavors.
So if you’re making the trip to Alfonso’s, which you definitely should, don’t just get one burrito. By the time you finish it, you’ll already be craving another.

This takeout-only Prescott Valley spot, a humble and welcoming bastion of authentic Mexican flavors, makes some of the area’s best burritos and tacos. Of course there’s a fantastic carne asada burrito, but it’s the charcoal chicken special, available only on Thursdays and Saturdays, that’s the surprisingly simple standout, while the Al Pastor tacos, at just a dollar each, are a strong contender for the best deal on this side of town.
Call ahead to order, or prepare to be (extremely) disappointed since they sell out early.
Donut Hole

Plenty of spots serve Mexican-American fast food. But Prescott Valley’s Donut Hole, which blends bakery treats with authentic cuisine, masters it. The restaurant has a clean, welcoming space that feels like a neighborhood gem tucked away. It’s the kind of place that serves breakfast burritos with perfect proportions of egg, cheese, and bacon in homemade tortillas, the sort of spot where the friendly staff remembers regulars’ orders.
Sure, you can find donuts and tacos on many Arizona menus, but Donut Hole makes most other versions seem like stale pastries and bland fillings.
El Gordo Mexican Grill Prescott Valley

El Gordo Mexican Grill is that authentic corner shop you’ve been searching for—ever tried the real deal?—and this Prescott Valley gem, with its focus on street tacos and generous Mexican plates, is destined to become a local favorite. Thanks to unlimited chips and salsa and a lively, welcoming atmosphere, the charming restaurant is a perfect spot for a quick lunch or dinner with the family.
Start with the jefe fries and a plate of carnitas tacos before moving onto the best enchiladas we’ve had in months (green sauce enchiladas with tender chicken), the massive Texas burrito packed with savory fillings, and the molcajete simmering with extraordinary flavors in a rich, aromatic broth.
Taqueria Don Omar

If we were to give an award for somewhere that’s serving both extraordinary tacos and caldo, Taqueria Don Omar would easily win. When you go, don’t for a second be tempted to skip the birria—just get the tacos. They’re fresh, handmade, and have tender meat tucked inside warm tortillas. They also have some of the best guacamole in town thanks to crisp onions, freshly chopped cilantro, and a variety of salsas. Just know Taqueria Don Omar is cash only.
Taqueria Guadalajara

When you first walk into Taqueria Guadalajara, you’ll notice the free salsa bar with various toppings and a selection of hotter salsas. Everything at this somewhat hidden spot just off the main drag is that welcoming, especially their $12 fish taco special that changes regularly.
Dishes utilize ingredients and combinations that you won’t find at a lot of other Mexican spots—we’re talking about things like crispy shredded beef tacos with ridiculously good refried beans, or lengua tacos with attentive service. While most of the menu focuses on tacos, you can (and should) add on the Chili Rellenos, which are the best in town.
Mi chula antojitos y café

There’s only one spot in Prescott Valley serving a fantastic, $8 horchata while cumbia music plays, and that’s Mi Chula Antojitos y Café. The café-by-day, cantina-by-night is casual, to say the least—there’s a counter for ordering and colorful papel picado decorations—but they take their food seriously. The staff behind the counter talks about how they make the tostada de ceviche fresh daily and why the SangriaLoka is the perfect drink to amp up any meal.
The result is unexpected, incredible dishes—like the elote with various toppings—that you won’t find at other Mexican spots in town. The restaurant has perfected a couple of things: fresh yet flavorful food, and helping us enjoy our favorite Mexican street food fantasies for just one afternoon.
El asadero pv

We’d happily eat El asadero pv’s carne asada burrito and pozole in the parking lot of the mini-mart nearby if we had to. But, thankfully, this hidden gem in Prescott Valley has a cozy home-turned-diner space, so things don’t have to come to that. The indoor seating is great for a “let’s catch up” meal featuring chilaquiles and huevos rancheros. Otherwise, head to their outdoor patio whenever it’s nice enough to sit outside, just beware, the spicy hot salsa adds a real kick.
Lindo Mexico Restaurant Mexicano

If you hear someone complaining about being bored of their restaurant routine in Prescott Valley, send them to Lindo Mexico and smile smugly. This Mexican spot is hands down one of the best places in town (and one of our highest-rated restaurants). The lively restaurant has colorful decorations and detailed paintings throughout, and while you can walk in without a reservation, we wouldn’t recommend it—unless it’s for lunch.
Lindo Mexico serves unforgettable homestyle dishes, including pollo chiluci in poblano cream sauce, seafood specials, chicken and pork plates, and fried ice cream for dessert.
Carnicería Azteca

Prescott Valley’s Carnicería Azteca is a full-service Mexican restaurant and grocery store. It’s a beautifully decorated spot perfect for picking up fresh meat and seafood for the week or sharing a family meal of homemade Mexican classics. The whole menu is worth exploring, but the real specialty here is the spicy beef jerky. We can’t stop thinking about the Torta Cubana, which comes stacked with chicken and pork, brownish-red salsa, and fresh ingredients, all on housemade bread.
Azteca’s staff includes friendly cashiers who assist English speakers, so you know the service is good.
Erickberto’s Mexican Food

If Mexican food for you means a burrito packed with tender carne asada, you should grab your lunch at Erickberto’s Mexican Food. The drive-thru spot is one of the best in Prescott Valley, and definitely our favorite place for quick Mexican in the area. It can get as busy during lunch hours as the nearby shopping plaza, but you can always order your fresh Erickburrito, Arizona burrito, or pico de gallo to go.
