A North Wildwood restaurant isn’t just a meal; it’s a memory. These shoreside stalwarts face tides of change, yet they endure—some with legendary lobster rolls, others with simply perfect onion rings and salt-tinged air. From boardwalk icons to cozy fish shacks, these are the places that don’t just feed you; they define the very flavor of the Jersey Shore.
Caribbean flavor
$ | (609) 600-1995 | WEBSITE

Caribbean Flavor has been holding it down on the boardwalk for years. Not only is it still one of our favorite Caribbean spots in North Wildwood, but it’s been there for us through so many different occasions: sunny beach days, casual family dinners, and, of course, the post-beach craving. You have no choice but to feel the welcoming atmosphere with fellow diners and the kind staff inside. It’s pretty much only spacious table seating.
Prices and portions are always generous—particularly when it comes to our favorite dish: the chuletas with white rice. The hearty plate comes with tender pork chops, perfectly seasoned rice, and fresh plantains. Somehow, it’s still just $14.95.
Bell’s Philly Grill
$ | (609) 435-2923 | WEBSITE

The classic red and white signage of Bell’s Philly Grill is like the Jersey Shore’s version of comfort food royalty: a beacon that promises something reliably delicious. Except here, a satisfying meal comes with cheese steaks loaded with all the toppings and Philly inside out pizza. What started out as a humble grill has evolved into the entire area’s go-to spot for hearty, unpretentious American fare.
Now, there’s a menu that features everything from generous grilled chicken Caesar salads with fresh greens to phenomenal burgers and breakfast sandwiches with sausage, pork roll, scrapple, and bacon. Every order arrives with plenty of fries and all the little extras included, making it a must-stop on the ‘Cheesesteak Sampler Trail.’
Beach Bowls
$ | (609) 770-7241 | WEBSITE

It’s possible you grabbed your first post-beach snack here back in the day. And if you did, Beach Bowls was already a neighborhood staple. This North Wildwood spot feels like a clean, sunny beach shack. There are bright white walls, cheerful blue accents, and a constant blender hum from the smoothie station. Staff members move quickly in simple uniforms and the smell of toasting bagels greets customers as they order açaí bowls. But this is a locals favorite, not just a tourist stop.
The bagels have that perfect chewy texture, the tuna poke is uniquely marinated and incredible, and the staff remembers regulars’ usual orders.
Aloha Cafe
$ | (609) 522-8495 | WEBSITE

The reason you’re coming to this cash-only North Wildwood spot is in the name. This place makes the best pancakes we’ve had at the Jersey Shore, and they do it right in front of you, in the same cozy space they’ve been running for years. Aloha Cafe is a breakfast-focused restaurant, so you can find a broccoli-cheddar omelette and award-winning pancakes on the menu alongside other hot and delicious morning meals. It’s all homemade and available for takeout.
But if you’ve got the time, eat there and strike up a conversation with the friendly staff. If they like you, there may be an extra pancake waiting for you at the end of the meal.
Cool Scoops Ice Cream Parlor
$$ | (609) 729-2665 | WEBSITE

Cool Scoops Ice Cream Parlor makes North Wildwood care more about ice cream than any parlor in town ever has. And you can now encounter whispers of their salted caramel pretzel in nearly every conversation along the Jersey Shore. But we still love taking trips to the 50s-themed parlor, because it’s only at the parlor that you’ll find Cool Scoops’ best stuff: a rotating cast of hard serve, soft serve, milkshakes, and sundaes.
That salted caramel pretzel comes in generous scoops, and it contains multitudes. It’s sweet, salty, crunchy, and creamy in all the right places. And if you stop by on a summer afternoon when the pink Cadillac seats are free, take a photo and savor the moment. Or, if you want to avoid waiting for any of this, just soak in the calm music and vintage memorabilia.
Dairy Queen (Treat)
$ | (609) 729-1740 | WEBSITE

Dairy Queen has been serving up soft-serve in North Wildwood for decades, making it one of the shore town’s most reliable ice cream spots. And everything about this place is unapologetically classic—from their walk-up window service to the ceremonial dipping of the cone. Everyone’s coming here to do the same thing: enjoy a creamy Blizzard or a classic sundae. But you should also try the $4 vanilla cone (it’s their signature treat), chocolate-dipped options, and strawberry sundaes.
If you don’t want to wait in the summer line, just use their convenient drive-thru for a quick treat on the go. But everyone should experience the full Dairy Queen ritual at least once—grabbing a seat at one of their outdoor tables and watching the world go by with a cold dessert in hand.
Joe Joe’s Place Tacos & Tequila
$ | (609) 522-0104 | WEBSITE

Joe Joe’s Place has been serving Wildwood long enough to see the boardwalk go from quiet off-season strolls to summer crowds seeking the perfect night out. But don’t worry, the tacos you’re eating aren’t coming from some frozen package—they’re made fresh right there. Joe Joe’s started as a simple taco spot before it became the full tacos-and-tequila experience, and all the good vibes come from the friendly staff and Alicia keeping the back bar running smoothly.
The best time to visit is during a Phillies game when the big screen lights up the room. But you can always get our favorite year-round: the perfectly balanced margarita that’s strong enough to kickstart the evening but smooth enough to sip all night. Don’t share it with the jealous friends at the next table.
Wildwoods BBQ
$$ | (609) 600-3292 | WEBSITE

Wildwoods BBQ is one of North Wildwood’s best restaurants serving classic barbecue for lunch or dinner. They’ve got a solid selection of dishes like tender brisket, juicy chicken BBQ, and flavorful beef tips, as well as the requisite macaroni and cheese, buttery cornbread, and savory beans. Order it all—just make sure to get their crispy fried cauliflower. It adds some much-needed crunch to a table full of soft comfort dishes.
While you’re waiting for the food, take a moment to soak in the atmosphere. The walls here are a mini Wildwood tribute, lined with rustic decor, fishing memorabilia, and coastal touches that showcase the authentic character of this place.
Lazy Bass Bayside Bar and Grill
$ | (609) 827-5299 | WEBSITE

For years, Lazy Bass Bayside Bar and Grill has been the go-to spot to enjoy a fun afternoon on the bay, which features food trucks that offer delicious options like burgers, tacos, and seafood. Lazy Bass keeps the atmosphere lively and ready for socializing all day along with cold drinks and sunny seating by the water. We also like the live music and the friendly, attentive bartenders who add to the welcoming vibe.
A couple things to know before you go: parking can be limited, it’s an outdoor spot with a loud atmosphere where kids can be active, and you should check their website or Facebook for updates on which food trucks will be there.
Wild Fox Café
$ | (609) 600-3613 | WEBSITE

Not unlike seagulls or vacationers enjoying their summer mornings, Wildwood is saturated with casual breakfast spots. But none of them do the hearty breakfast thing better than the area’s original popular café, Wild Fox Café. It’s still one of North Wildwood’s best places to relax and spend reasonable money on breakfast sandwiches and dangerously delicious smoothies.
Wild Fox Café is a reminder of how Wildwood used to do welcoming morning eateries, back when orders were placed at the counter and locals ate in the same space as visitors from nearby Stone Harbor.
Papelon- Latin Kitchen
$ | (609) 729-3131 | WEBSITE

This North Wildwood gem has been serving authentic Latin cuisine for years and still delivers some of the region’s most satisfying comfort food—in arepas, empanadas, and mofongo cooked to tender perfection. They also have a welcoming atmosphere that feels like a family kitchen and features friendly owners, clean surroundings, and kid-friendly seating ready to make everyone feel at home. If you’re looking for a standout dish, order the Venezuelan pabellon or the Bandeja Paisa from the menu.
Get a side of rice and beans, and offer a silent nod of appreciation to the culinary gods while you savor every bite of the house specialties, which taste like they were crafted by generations of Latin cooks to warm both heart and stomach.
Steak ‘Em-Up
$ | (609) 522-6000 | WEBSITE

The boardwalk-style pizza this restaurant serves has become legendary in North Wildwood, with visitors praising it as phenomenal year after year. This place still makes our favorite version in town: a Meat Lover’s pizza with fresh toppings, good quality ingredients, and perfectly blended sauce, cheese, and dough. The pizzas aren’t tiny and only cost about $18 for a large, so you can easily order so many slices that you can no longer see the counter you’re ordering from.
Also, the Moss Street location is as simple and efficient as a classic boardwalk joint, but it’s got way better food and the warmth of a favorite neighborhood spot with super friendly staff.
Rick’s Seafood House
$$ | (609) 729-9443 | WEBSITE

Rick’s Seafood House has been one of North Wildwood’s best seafood spots for a while, and is responsible for introducing a large portion of shore visitors to the wonders of fresh-caught seafood. The cozy spot has a solid menu of classics, but the reason we make sure to come here more often than we see our relatives is for that seafood, a delicious spread of over a dozen dishes served up fresh from the kitchen.
The plates up for grabs range from clams to lobster and all kinds of crab and shellfish, like well-cooked crabs and plump shrimp. Just remember that the wait can get a bit longer during peak summer, but the friendly service from Rick and his staff makes it worth it.
XO Pizza
$ | (609) 600-3786 | WEBSITE

XO Pizza does make very good classic pizzas, but you’re coming to this casual boardwalk spot for their surprising Grandma’s pizza. The crispy-bottomed crust—the only style they serve for this pie—is baked just enough to produce a light and airy texture, but isn’t so thick that you can’t taste the fresh, perfectly balanced toppings in each slice. It’s an exceptional find, because you can get a whole Grandma’s pizza—plus the friendly, attentive service in a clean, inviting atmosphere—for under $20.
And while they have pizza to grab and go, you can also sit inside and order at the counter while enjoying the ocean breeze from the Wildwood boardwalk.
Dolce Italia
$$ | (609) 522-6228 | WEBSITE

Dolce Italia is a staple in North Wildwood’s pizza scene. The takeout and delivery spot is open for convenient meals (essential information when you’re craving a quick bite) and so is the reliable service. The best thing to get here is the 16×16 Sicilian pizza, which is also the reason why the place constantly smells like hot, fresh dough topped with sweet sauce and melted cheese.
You’ll also want to grab a slice or two of the thin-crust pizza, which is flavorful, perfectly balanced, and really satisfying. Like almost all Italian pizzerias in North Wildwood, you can’t say you’ve been there without ordering a traditional Italian Stromboli. We like the soup of the day, our favorite version of a comforting side made with daily specials.
The Inlet North Wildwood
$$ | (609) 600-2799 | WEBSITE

The Inlet North Wildwood’s menu isn’t all exclusively wedding-focused, but it’s the first name that comes to mind when many locals think of consistent Jersey Shore dining. It’s more of a general American restaurant with some creative twists, and it’s one of the best places to take in the reliable comfort food the shore does so well.
The menu has classics like their unique cheese steak egg rolls, but the service experience can vary—some servers are praised for their attentiveness while others might be too busy to promptly refill drinks. There’s currently just this one location in North Wildwood, but our favorite time to visit is during wedding season, because there’s a special energy when the chef and entire Inlet team are making events memorable.
Take your plate of food, grab a drink, find a table, and soak in the positive atmosphere while you enjoy dishes that consistently exceed expectations.
Owen’s Pub
$ | (609) 729-7290 | WEBSITE

How many collective hours have North Wildwood visitors spent enjoying cold drafts in chilled glasses at this lively pub? Probably around 613,620, which is about as long as the historic spot has been bustling (that’s about 70 years, in case you hate math). Yes, those generous portions are worth the trip, especially when the chicken parmigiana arrives hot from the kitchen. But so are the weekday specials, daily deals like Monday night cheese steaks, and the Chicken Caesar Salad.
Just remember to grab a seat at the outdoor garage bar while you’re there. Or come on a random weekday before the dinner rush and there probably won’t be a wait at all. And in case you’re new here, know that the friendly, attentive staff make everyone feel like a regular.
PrimoHoagies
$ | (609) 522-1300 | WEBSITE

It may not serve the state’s best hoagies, but it’s hard to argue with its reputation for quality sandwiches made with fresh ingredients. Inside the simple counter-service space, fluorescent lights shine over the clean laminate surfaces. But the real magic happens when you place your order. There, you can get a sharp Italian hoagie with freshly cut cheeses and meats, a Tuna Diablo sub, and snack on those popular sharp provolone bites.
Orders are consistently made correctly, and delivery is quick and friendly. It’s a quintessential North Wildwood experience that every sandwich lover in the county should try at least once.
Keenan’s North Wildwood
$$ | (609) 729-3344 | WEBSITE

Keenan’s North Wildwood is a North Wildwood staple in a lively space right in the heart of the island. The menu has burgers, sandwiches, bar snacks—most dishes hover around $15. But if you’re coming here, you’re getting the late-night experience. Keenan’s atmosphere is vibrant, welcoming, and buzzing like a party. It’s really fun, too. A perfect spot to dance the night away. Order a round of drinks, and some of the best bands on the island will keep the energy high.
Just be sure to come ready to enjoy because that’s what this place delivers.
