Island Cafe
$ | (936) 554-3551 | WEBSITE

With its convenient drive-thru only setup, Island Cafe is definitely in the running for the title of “Bolivar Peninsula’s Most Popular Breakfast Spot.” It also doesn’t hurt that their golf cart pickup adds a fun, quirky twist to the experience.
The line might stretch during busy times, but pair the wait with one of Island Cafe’s excellent breakfast burritos, biscuits and gravy, or simple and sweet dirty chai lattes, and you’ve got a winning combination, ideal for everything from fueling up before a beach day to grabbing a quick coffee on the go to finally treating your pup to a special “pup cup.”
Nauti Beaver Hut
$ | (409) 502-1623 | WEBSITE

Half lively family restaurant, half entertainment hub (and the most quintessential Bolivar Peninsula spot that has ever existed), Nauti Beaver Hut’s vibrant dining room is always buzzing, and it’s a great place to enjoy live music or dine on their (really excellent) Crystal Beach Burger or stuffed flounder made with fresh local seafood. The blackened redfish also shines, and kids happily clean their plates of crispy fries.
Friendly servers keep drinks flowing—try the Cherry Lime Moscow Mule with its funny menu description—and the atmosphere stays fun until the kids-free policy kicks in at 9 pm. Visitors return repeatedly for the reasonable prices and good times.
Jose’s Cantina
$ | (409) 684-1180 | WEBSITE

This welcoming cantina now features a delightful mix of Mexican and seafood dishes. Located near Bolivar Peninsula, Jose’s Cantina has everything from popular appetizers like shrimp kisses to standout entrees like the blackened fish, considered better than New Orleans, along with great margaritas. Open for lunch and breakfast.
Fins Bar & Grill
$ | (409) 263-8114 | WEBSITE

Is there anywhere more welcoming than Fins Bar & Grill’s beachside spot at Camp Margaritaville? We’re putting our money on no. Outfitted with casual, weathered wooden tables, cheerful string lights, and standout dishes like the locally caught shrimp and the Cajun pasta, which have received amazing feedback, there’s no better place on Crystal Beach to kick off your flip-flops and enjoy live music while watching kids play, family-style.
The staff, including the awesome waitress Monica, ensures everyone feels like part of the crew, making it a perfect spot for birthdays, weddings, or just a laid-back meal by the water.
Crystal Beach Cafe
$ | (713) 534-7475 | WEBSITE

In addition to vermicelli noodle bowls and Asian-inspired dishes, this Bolivar Peninsula restaurant also boasts one of the most flavorful dining experiences in the area. Located right along the coastal highway, Crystal Beach Cafe has created a fresh, authentic atmosphere complete with healthy, delicious food and vibrant, clean tables – a satisfying, memorable meal worthy of being in one of the region’s best restaurant lists. Open daily, with consistent hours for lunch and dinner.
Taqueria el Antojito
$ | (409) 599-3441 | WEBSITE

Over on Bolivar Peninsula, Taqueria el Antojito – which is run by a family where the daughters take orders and their mom creates magic in the kitchen – is now offering made-to-order meals from their taco truck. In addition to a first-class collection of tacos, including authentic barbacoa and birria varieties, Taqueria el Antojito also serves breakfast sandwiches, burgers, and the must-try Aqua Fresca Mango.
Vegetarian options like fresh veggie and egg tacos are also available, with food that comes out quickly thanks to their friendly and warm staff.
The Panini Press-Crystal Beach
$ | (575) 317-1595 | WEBSITE

The Panini Press at Crystal Beach (which we once referred to as ‘The reliable old friend of Bolivar Peninsula’ for some reason) is back in full swing with consistent hours and takeout service. Make sure to take advantage of their custom Italian panini, outstanding pizza, and delicious muffaletta – all of which are worthy of a beachside celebration themselves.
Stingaree Restaurant & Marina
$$ | (409) 684-2731 | WEBSITE

There are plenty of seafood spots along the coast, but Stingaree Restaurant & Marina has an outdoor seating area perfect for both you and your appetite. Well, your seafood appetite, that is. In addition to an impressive menu of generously portioned dishes like the standout seafood and steak options, Stingaree also offers that beautiful bay view, filled with barges passing by and birds flying overhead for nature’s best show.
Tia Juanita’s Fish Camp Ocean Grill
$ | (409) 684-5006 | WEBSITE

This Bolivar Peninsula favorite—and one of the best spots in the area to enjoy seafood with a view—also features a spacious outdoor patio complete with string lights, top-shelf margaritas, and of course, plates upon plates of deliciously decadent food as far as the appetite can handle. It is a fish camp, after all.
Down Under Cafe
$$ | WEBSITE

This outstanding seafood cafe on Bolivar Peninsula – that just happens to serve one of the best pulled pork sandwiches around – offers a great atmosphere both inside and out. Soak in the Gulf views while enjoying top-notch dishes like the Shrimp Lover platter, sipping on housemade sauces, and celebrating something special, like a birthday dinner with delicious meals including their recommended cheeseburger.
Tiki Beach Bar & Grill
$ | (409) 684-9594 | WEBSITE

One of our favorite Bolivar Peninsula spots (and home to a few questionable service practices), Tiki Beach Bar & Grill has introduced a kid-friendly area in front of the establishment, perfect for taking pictures with children. So far they’ve only put out a few tables there, so you might have to be strategic about snagging a spot. May the odds be ever in your favor.
La Playita Restaurant
$ | (409) 684-1383 | WEBSITE

If you’re looking to spend all day by the water, La Playita is one of the best spots on the peninsula to do just that. Sure, the chalupas themselves are nothing to write home about and the fajitas can be best described as ‘does the trick,’ but that’s besides the point.
You’re not here to wax poetic about gourmet fusion or plating techniques – you’re here to plop yourself down at one of their comfortable tables, dig into those all-you-can-eat oysters, and make the most of that laid-back local hangout vibe.
G’s Molcajete
$ | (409) 684-9560 | WEBSITE

Opened in recent years, G’s Molcajete near Bolivar Peninsula serves not only as a top Mexican dining destination—it also functions as a welcoming local eatery, family-friendly spot, and reliable breakfast and lunch option. In addition, their convenient location just minutes from the beach now also features clean, comfortable facilities, where you can enjoy perfectly cooked chicken fajitas, fresh seafood plates, and addictive salsa with warm chips.
