We might blank on our anniversary date or draw a total blank on that movie we saw last week. But ask us about the most transcendent seafood moments we’ve experienced in Tulsa recently? Suddenly we’re culinary historians, recalling every buttery scallop and briny oyster with photographic precision. These 15 spots delivered plates so spectacular, they briefly made the rest of the world disappear.
Southern Style Eatery
$ | (918) 933-6262 | WEBSITE

The seafood scene in Tulsa is always evolving, but I don’t think anyone would argue that Southern Style Eatery isn’t among the best. I love a good fish plate, and it’s fantastic here—fresh with mouth-tingling seasonings. The Beans and Rice and daily specials like gizzards and fries are probably my favorites with a side of crispy fries. The atmosphere is pleasant, the staff is genuinely kind, and the service is always good. Forget fast food—this place does not disappoint.
Zua Sian Sushi To Go
$ | (918) 350-9828 | WEBSITE

Tempura shrimp is one of my sushi cravings, so I didn’t hesitate when I spotted it on Zua Sian’s menu. These crispy shrimp rolls are fried to a golden perfection, and come with a side of soy sauce that gives this dish a satisfying crunch. The boba tea alongside provides a sweet and refreshing balance. This is a straightforward option that won’t turn heads at a fancy competition. But it’s now my go-to thought whenever I want quick sushi.
Los Mochis Tacos y Mariscos
$ | (918) 907-4059 | WEBSITE

This is hands-down some of my favorite shrimp ceviche ever. The little shrimp pieces are lightly marinated, fresh, tangy on the inside, and come with a tasty lime dipping sauce. It’s a simple dish, but it really works.
La Costera Mexican Restaurant
$ | (918) 902-9587 | WEBSITE

La Costera Mexican Restaurant feels like an out-of-the-neighborhood experience because the family-owned spot sits in a vibrant strip mall that looks out toward the bustle of Tulsa traffic (which none of us have gotten used to). And I’d like to say the asada street tacos at La Costera feel like authentic street food, too—these flavorful tacos are already among the best of them. But loaded with the freshness of homemade ingredients, these tacos feel more like a mouthful of juicy, tender perfection.
If the Mexican abuelas ever had the opportunity to re-appropriate a dish that should actually have the name of perfection, we’re pretty sure this would be their pick.
Taylor Made Turkey Legs
$ | (918) 902-1205 | WEBSITE

There are a lot of dishes to love at Taylor Made Turkey Legs, but the mac and cheese stuffed turkey leg is always a must-order for me. Huge turkey legs are stuffed to the max with creamy mac and cheese (one of my favorite comfort foods). There’s a generous portion of perfectly cooked pasta inside, and the whole thing is glazed with a savory alfredo sauce.
The owner goes above and beyond to make sure every bite is satisfying, and the affordable prices make it easy to enjoy this scrumptious meal whenever the craving hits.
Fabulosos Mariscos A La Antigua
$ | (918) 619-9969 | WEBSITE

There are a lot of great seafood spots in Tulsa, like the legendary White River Fish Market or Kilkenny’s Irish Pub’s fish and chips, but I have to call attention to a restaurant that has unfairly slipped under the radar. Reminiscent of a classic Mexican seaside eatery, this place is vibrant with live music creating a lively and chill environment, and the shrimp ceviche and carne asada spilling out of the plates.
It’s easily an eight-napkin meal because you can’t dig into the bacon wrapped shrimp with cheese or the shrimp cocktail without delicious sauce dripping down your chin. This giant, messy feast makes Fabulosos Mariscos A La Antigua a must-stop in Tulsa.
Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar
$$$$ | (918) 712-7500 | WEBSITE

I’m a traditionalist who believes a restaurant needs years of consistency before it can be called a true classic. But Fleming’s Prime Steakhouse & Wine Bar is challenging that notion with every steak I cut into. The place’s current standout is the Tomahawk steak for two.
The massive, beautifully presented cut served with salad, side, and dessert looked impressive on the table, but didn’t initially scream ‘defining meal.’ Yet from the first bite of that perfectly aged, buttery ribeye and the flawless sides like macaroni and cheese, it became clear that any discussion of Tulsa’s dining scene now requires Fleming’s name in the ‘modern classic’ conversation.
Wing Supreme on Greenwood
$ | (918) 392-8887 | WEBSITE

These wings from Wing Supreme on Greenwood come with the restaurant’s signature garlic parmesan seasoning. And every single bite is exceptional. But the star is the 8-piece Snack Attack, which is robust and hearty like a classic Greenwood District blues riff.
Ti Amo Ristorante Italiano
$$ | (918) 499-1919 | WEBSITE

Ti Amo Ristorante Italiano is one of the top seafood spots in Tulsa. And while it didn’t make our Best 15 list, it still has a few dishes that are hits for your taste buds, and the bruschetta appetizer is one of them. With fresh tomatoes and a drizzle of olive oil, you’ll flash back to your last trip to the Amalfi Coast. It’s served on crisp, toasted bread that provides a nice contrast of textures for the toppings. Now if they could just bring the Mediterranean to Oklahoma.
Villa Ravenna Fine Dining
$$$ | (918) 270-2666 | WEBSITE

Villa Ravenna is mainly known for their excellent seafood, but the best thing I ate there happened to be one of their pasta dishes. The Linguine White Clam could’ve been eaten with a fork alone and was so good I wish it came in a family-sized portion. But the best part was the homemade Alfredo sauce that added some creaminess and a rich, savory depth to the plate. Next time I visit, I’ll be ordering one less appetizer to make room for this dish.
Bourbon St. Cafe
$$ | (918) 583-5555 | WEBSITE

Tulsa isn’t a gumbo town, but maybe Bourbon St. Cafe will change that. And the downtown restaurant is a good starting point if you’re seafood-curious. This savory, steaming bowl is served brimming with shrimp and okra and simmered in a dark, spicy roux. Then the oysters give the dish the perfect amount of briny depth. Scooping the extra sauce straight from the bowl is just a fun (and tasty) bonus.
Krab Kingz Tulsa
$$ | (918) 715-5722 | WEBSITE

Krab Kingz Tulsa is the kind of place that encourages people from all walks of life to sit down with a seafood boil and stay awhile, which is perfect because after consuming the Mother’s Day Boil you’ll need to stay seated for a good while. This generous seafood feast means business (like demolishing your midnight cravings the way a king crab attacks a buffet).
It takes up most of the table with crab cake bits spilling over the sides, and I recommend adding fried jumbo shrimp and hush puppies for the full effect. It’s so substantial you might have to tackle it with a fork and knife, but if you can manage to eat it with your hands, I salute you.
Saltgrass Steak House
$$ | (918) 488-8794 | WEBSITE

As someone who’s spent years exploring Tulsa’s dining scene, I’m pretty sure my local foodie credentials are solid. Yet, having never before visited the consistently praised Saltgrass Steak House, a tiny part of me felt like I was missing out. The restaurant’s magnificent crab cake appetizer makes me regret all those missed opportunities even more. Served alongside a crisp Caesar salad and a perfectly seared steak, the crab cakes manage to shine brightly on the plate.
The fish couldn’t have been grilled any better if that was the chef’s only purpose each day. Rattlers, quail appetizers, and sweet-but-not-cloying tea perfectly round out a meal that felt both exciting and comfortably familiar, especially with servers like Chelsy and Jaime ensuring every detail was just right.
Prossimo Ristorante
$$ | (918) 271-5096 | WEBSITE

I’ve had countless Italian meals at some of Tulsa’s best restaurants. I’ve even had insanely good pasta at places claiming to be ‘high end.’ But until Prossimo Ristorante, I had no idea tableside mozzarella was even a thing, and now I’ll be a regular for their date night specials.
All the dishes are delicious, but the standouts are the pork chop (it’s been a favorite among guests, hence the reputation) served with seasonal vegetables and the pasta in the cheese wheel—a creamy alfredo prepared right at the table that was so authentic I’d eat spoonfuls of it plain.
Red Lobster
$$ | (918) 250-5330 | WEBSITE

Red Lobster’s seafood dishes are second to none, and this is one of those meals that proves it. The Sailor’s Boil was so flavorful and satisfying, I could just order it again and again.
