Here, Cincinnatians wanting to avoid the trendy spots Downtown and on the East Side gather for wings, craft beer, and pub classics like the West Side Rueben and grilled Turkey wrap in what feels like an appealingly lively sports haven where the happy hour deals are better than a last-minute touchdown. Taglio OTR is a popular spot in Over The Rhine, and considering their gourmet pizza reputation, we get it. There’s a lively bar atmosphere with high seating and table seating, and an open kitchen where you’ll see pizzas being tossed. There was a time when 513 Sports Cafe was synonymous with Cincinnati sports bars. That all changed in the early 2020s, thanks to the “new-school” boom that brought places with craft cocktails and artisanal menus. Today, 513 Sports Cafe might not make the most sophisticated dining in the Cincinnati area, but it is the most fun place to catch a game. Essentially, this is a Disney World version of a sports bar, with house-made potato chips and wings served in a massive, multi-level space.

Champions Grille is most famously known as the west side’s go-to sports bar, a spot so deeply embedded in Cincinnati’s game-day culture that you kind of have to visit this strip mall gem at least once to say you’ve experienced it. But the food and drinks? They’re actually pretty great. The menu leans classic sports bar and pub grub, with things like the Champ Boy burger, Sriracha Bourbon Burger, and crispy tots that do more than just the job—they’ll have you planning your next visit.

It’s a little bit classic sports pub and a little bit modern family hangout, and while the restaurant may get loud during prime time and big sporting events, it’s still one of the best places to catch the game in exchange for a tab you’ll feel pretty good about when it arrives.

Good moods spread like melted cheese, especially during celebrations.
And many of the pairings, like the charcuterie and cheeses with fruits and vegetables, taste almost as satisfying—and just as good—as their traditional counterparts.

Home Court Tavern / Sinners & Saints has a reputation that you can read all about in local guides or probably on social media somewhere, but it’s best represented by the brisket that’s been proudly on the menu since the place opened, when tender meat in a sports bar was still a novelty. The spot has been many things over the years, though these days it’s home to some excellent bar food.
The signature brisket is exactly what we want out of a pub meal, and it pairs especially well with a good cocktail and whatever game is on the TVs.

Queen City Radio might not host live music every single night, but this bar is still a reliable spot to catch a game or unwind after exploring the vibrant Over-the-Rhine neighborhood. They embrace the ‘good vibes anytime’ motto with an inviting atmosphere that spans indoor seating, a charming patio, and heated outdoor tents perfect for day drinking.
In keeping with that mentality, it’s a casual place where you shouldn’t (and can’t) worry about planning your visit days or weeks in advance—just show up, grab a craft beer like the Truth IPA, and soak in the lively energy.

Other spots are newer, and some are bigger, but The Pitch Cincy is Cincinnati’s quintessential sports bar, having become a go-to destination for fans since opening near OTR. The location, across from TQL Stadium and close to Music Hall, is easily the most convenient. The place is usually packed, though, especially on FC Cincy game days.
You’ll find just about every type of fan under one roof: corporate groups celebrating, sports fans glued to the excellent TV setup, and friends who couldn’t get tickets to the match. The highlight at The Pitch Cincy is the solid burger from the food truck, but their menu has great wings and dip, too, all reasonably priced. The atmosphere is electric, the staff is supportive and attentive, and drinks flow quickly even when busy—making it a fantastic place for celebrations and gatherings.
Kitty’s Sports Grill

Kitty’s Sports Grill isn’t just another sports bar in Cincinnati—it’s one of the most popular spots to catch a game, with a welcoming and fun atmosphere that makes it a great place to spend the day. The restaurant serves excellent smoked wings, including Billy’s smoked wings, and mouth-watering barbecue like brisket and pulled pork with homemade Carolina BBQ sauce. This lively Cincinnati spot has been serving up smoked wings since it opened. And, in that time, it’s become a bustling staple of the neighborhood, especially during Reds games. Knockback Nats has all the classics—smoked chicken wings, pork nachos, and local beers—but our favorite thing to get is the wings. They’re smoked and grilled to perfection, with just enough dry rub for amazing flavor, and the garlic Buffalo ranch sauce on the side is a standout.
The service is friendly and fabulous, the dive bar feel is clean and well-maintained, and the monthly live band adds to the nostalgic atmosphere.
MVP Sports Bar and Grille

As long as you’re fine with the occasional drum solo drowning out the game commentary—and maybe even getting swept up in the rowdy cheers when the home team scores—this is one of the best spots in Silverton for a classic sports bar experience. Order a pitcher for the table so you can enjoy the cheaper-than-individual-beers deal, then go for the crowd-pleasing chicken chunks and fries. The portions are generous, so come hungry.
