Ah, Melbourne, FL. This sunny Space Coast city is beloved for its riverfront views, historic downtown, and a taco scene that could politely be described as… sprawling. But while you can’t toss a tortilla here without hitting a mid-tier Tex-Mex joint, there are also excellent spots hiding throughout these palm-lined streets. That’s why we scoured the area to bring you this guide to our favorite Melbourne taco spots.
Tijuana Flats
$ | (321) 558-3355 | WEBSITE

Tijuana Flats only offers one type of hot sauce bar. They feature a limited selection of their unique sauces every day, and once they run out (and they often run out) they restock, usually at around 8:00pm. If you only have a single type of condiment station, it better be good, and luckily Tijuana Flats’ is exceptional, with a vibrant array that includes options like Rasta Sauce and other flavorful varieties.
They also serve a variety of Mexican-inspired dishes (also in ample quantities), like tacos with fresh fillings, hearty burritos packed with ingredients, and customizable salads and bowls. The space is relaxed and laid-back, owing to the restaurant’s campus eatery vibe, and while there’s a good amount of seating indoors, if it’s too packed you can grab a spot at a table outside in the ample parking area.
Tacomaniacs
$ | (321) 425-2484 | WEBSITE

If you want to test the authenticity of a taco joint in Melbourne, type “best tacos in town” into any local food forum and see if Tacomaniacs doesn’t dominate the conversation. In a city dotted with taco spots, Tacomaniacs is the most obsessive and flavor-forward of the bunch. A simple counter-service setup gives way to a dining area where the real stars are the homemade tortilla chips waiting to be dipped into vibrant salsas. The menu at Tacomaniacs is almost secondary to the experience.
You’re here for the aforementioned quality and, if you’re wise, the recently introduced brisket special that has regulars coming back for seconds. Nothing here reinvents the wheel, but order the chicken with mango salsa, the praised pulled pork tacos, and the Jerk Chicken burrito, which boasts one of the most satisfying spice profiles around.
Jimmy Hula’s at Pineda Crossing
$ | (321) 421-7546 | WEBSITE

Jimmy Hula’s at Pineda Crossing is one of the few spots in Melbourne where you can feed a family without spending a fortune. The varied menu full of fresh tacos and other dishes is perfect for picky eaters, and their commitment to using quality ingredients makes this place a reliable choice for those who care about what they eat. The service here is quick and friendly, and the casual atmosphere means you can relax without any fuss.
We like the flavorful tacos made with fresh ingredients, as well as the other signature dishes that keep people coming back. The food here is straightforward, but sometimes that’s exactly what you want.
Fiesta Bar&Grill
$$ | (321) 345-4392 | WEBSITE

Melbourne locals are fiercely loyal to their favorite “authentic Mexican” spots, but we are, bravely, willing to say that Fiesta Bar&Grill serves the best tacos in town.
Fiesta has fewer taco varieties than other restaurants, but what they lack in variety they make up for in quality: the tortillas here are thicker and more substantial than others, and the freshly made fillings are only lightly seasoned, helping Fiesta’s tacos avoid the overwhelmingly spicy flavor of lesser versions at other spots in the area. We go for the classic carne asada tacos with traditional toppings and a squeeze of lime.
The crowd on Taco Tuesdays is intimidating but the friendly staff keeps things moving quickly.
Pineapples
$$ | (321) 499-1400 | WEBSITE

Walking into Pineapples’ second-floor dining room above the casual bustle of the ground floor can feel like being transported to a different world. And we mean that in a good way. The vibrant space is lively and energetic, with fantastic decor that enhances the atmosphere during comedy nights or jam bands. For starters, we’re into the tuna poke cucumber and wings that can be made ‘naked’ to suit your taste.
Burgers here are served like they’re trying to win awards, so depending on your appetite consider splitting one. The Pineapple Signature Burger, loaded with flavor and just satisfying enough to keep you coming back for more, is a must.
Del Taco
$ | (321) 610-4768 | WEBSITE

The only option at Del Taco is the incredible, no-fuss $8.99 combo meal. And while it might sound like a nightmare to your picky friend who only eats gourmet tacos, you’re never going to have a bad meal here. The menu stays consistent, but almost always features crispy fries and tacos before moving on to the highlight fish tacos on corn tortillas, a side of delicious fries, and friendly service for everyone.
The restaurant is just one efficient drive-thru lane with quick service, and it’s the perfect place to come hungry when you’re short on time. The young blonde lady who took my order gave a sweet compliment that made my day, and Brooke handled the busy lunch rush with such grace and kindness.
Sure, the grilled chicken can be mushy sometimes, and mobile orders might have system issues, but the customer-facing staff works hard to provide that prompt, courteous, professional experience that keeps me coming back.
Fish Bellies Food Truck
$ | (321) 978-1050 | WEBSITE

There’s a reason for that line at Fish Bellies Food Truck. This small, cash-only spot is a standout in the neighborhood for tacos and sandwiches made with fresh local seafood. Our favorites are the blackened yellow tail snapper tacos, crispy pork belly sandwiches, and the unique seasoned fries that are perfectly crispy. We’re suckers for a friendly owner, and Fish Bellies happens to be mostly kitchen, with only a few tables packed into the tiny dining area.
And while the tables turn relatively quickly, if you come here at a weird time (like, 3pm kind of weird) you won’t want to wait.
Taqueria La Morenita
$ | (321) 989-2483 | WEBSITE

Longtime Melbourne residents might recall the original Taqueria La Morenita, a cherished Mexican eatery celebrated for handmade tortillas that faced challenges at its previous location. Now it’s reopened just west on the same side of the street near Domino’s Pizza with favorites from the old menu and tacos so reminiscent of the original it might make you think the neighborhood hasn’t changed a bit (it has).
Taqueria La Morenita fits right into Melbourne of 2026, as the vibrant, cozy atmosphere with rustic decor and lively music can attest, but it’s also a place to visit when you want to remember simpler times, when family-owned spots felt more personal and connected. Start with the homemade guacamole and move onto the birria tacos. Arguably the dish that put this place on the map, the current version, served with perfectly seasoned fillings and zesty salsas, should be on your plate.
